Prepared?

There is a cot in the house.

This is beginning to feel weird.

Updated: picture of a cot added for clarification. It's one pretty much like this one.

By cot, do you mean crib? Or maybe you are preparing for a mother-in-law visit.

Perhaps it's another phrasing difference.

Excellent! Flicker will appreciate not having to sleep in a laundry basket (I have heard that tale more times that you would believe). As of yet, BB is not sleeping in his crib, but in a bassinett in our room. I am thinking of moving him soon, though, because he is a loud sleeper!

Cot? Crib? There's a difference?

It's a full-size cot, Rob, and it's currently set up in the guest room (to make sure I knew hhow to assemble it!) but the plan is to re-assemble it with only three sides and put it up as an extension to our own bed. At least for the first little while...

Bassinett, Delphi? What the heck's that?!

The bassinet we are using looks pretty much like this one: http://www.toysrus.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&catalogId=10052&langId=-1&productId=75547

Nice cot/crib!

very groovy, uh, cot.

in the u.s., a cot is a rudimentary, portable, folding bed, such as one used by a soldier in a tent or by a victim of a natural disaster in a red cross shelter.

we would call your groovy cot a crib; something smaller that a baby might start out in, maybe next to your bed, and that can only be used until the baby is sitting up or rolling over (because it's too shallow for a mobile baby) is a bassinet.
